Big changes at the Ankeny Regional Airport:
Starting this spring, the main runway will undergo a massive expansion (extending to 6,000 feet) to accommodate larger corporate jets. Better expect some construction activity near the airfield.
New Startup In Ankeny:
Local startup Koos Medical Innovations just received state funding to commercialize a new medical safety gown. It is a great example of the high-tech innovation happening right here in our business parks.
New Fire Station
Ankeny’s safety footprint is growing! Last week the fourth; 12,830-square-foot fire station officially opened. This expansion is a key step in keeping pace with Ankeny's rapid growth. Thank you to all the dedicated first responders who call this new station home and look after us everyday!

Lets Eat!
If you haven't visited The District lately you should check out Tribute Eatery and Bar. It’s still pretty fresh on folks radars having opened late 2025. They specialize in "elevated comfort food". Think unique twists on sandwiches, burgers, and a strong cocktail menu.
Another great place to eat in the same area is District 36 Wine Bar and Grille. Fun fact, I took my girlfriend here for our first Valentines Day a few years ago. I’d like to say it was my sparkling personality that won her over but definitely could have been the food. To all the fellas reading this… 10/10 would recommend going here to make a good first impression. Valentines Day is only a month away!
