Good morning Ankeny! Today I learned Jason Derulo has a tank full of sharks in his living room. The only way I can ever think knowing this might be useful is if it comes up on Jeopardy! so on the off chance you get on the show and it happens to be a question on that episode, you’re welcome.

In today’s digest:

  • Latest business openning

  • More road closures

  • Things to do this Mothers day

Lets get started.

Are You Ready to Actually Retire?

Knowing when to retire is harder than knowing how much to save. The timing depends on what your retirement actually looks like: how long your money needs to last, what you'll spend, and where your income comes from.

When to Retire: A Quick and Easy Planning Guide is built for investors with $1,000,000 or more who are ready to move from saving to planning. Download your free guide and start working through the details.

💼LOCAL BUSINESS

Premier Credit Union Openning

The grand opening kicks off at noon at 1430 SW Tradition Drive, starting with a ribbon cutting in partnership with the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce. After that there will be food, drinks, live music courtesy of a local radio station, and goodie bags for the first 25 people through the door. There are also two grand prizes up for grabs, so it's worth showing up early and staying a while.

The decision to expand to Ankeny wasn't a tough one. Premier Credit Union already has thousands of members living and working in the community, and with the city growing the way it is, opening a full-service branch here was more a matter of when than if. (source)

💛NEIGHBORHOOD SPOTLIGHT

Ankeny PD’s 4th Annual Pedal with Police

The Ankeny Police Department held its fourth annual Pedal with Police event last week, trading squad cars for bikes and hitting the trails with local families and cycling enthusiasts. The ride gave officers a chance to share updates on Ankeny's new e-bike and trail laws, talk helmet safety, and remind everyone to stay right and signal when passing.

It's a small thing, but it's a good thing. Hard to be intimidated by a cop who's also just trying to make it up a hill on a bike path. (source)
